I am currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at W & L.

In Fall 2015 I am teaching Calculus (two sections) and Abstract Algebra (one section).

I conduct mathematical research on several different topics, overlapping the traditional boundaries of geometry, topology, group theory, combinatorics, and probability. Specifically, my current and recent interests include:

  • filling functions in group theory,
  • the geometry of triangulations of a square,
  • discretized configuration spaces,
  • patterns in random permutations,
  • and, of course, the lottery.
See the research link for project descriptions.
