Assignment: In addition to assigned readings, students write on one novel independently (see Bibliography for full citations).  One part of the independent paper consists of a brief synopsis in the editorial style typical of a jacket cover.  The information on the "jacket cover" should entice potential readers without revealing the entire plot summary.
