Great
Hall of the Science Center
Use Policy
The Great Hall of
the Science Center is a frequently used lounge area for students and faculty.
Its use for events which will disrupt this, its primary function, is not
encouraged. Events associated
with W&L academic activities may be allowed, providing they align with
the following guidelines.
$
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
$
Departments housed in the Science Center will have priority for
use.
$
No events of any kind will be allowed during exam periods.
$ The user must take responsibility for arranging with Physical Plant (458-8490) regarding rearrangement of furniture in the space. Requests to Physical Plant should be at least seven days in advance of the event.
| < Furniture should not be removed from the Great Hall more than four hours prior to initial need for the space, and be returned no more than four hours after the final need for the space, if possible within the normal working hours of Physical Plant employees. |
| < Cleanup is the responsibility of the user: W&L custodial services are not expected to clean the area for special events. The users must leave the space as they find it, thus trash, spills, etc in the kitchen area or the Great Hall must be cleaned by the user. |
$
Catered events in the Great Hall should be arranged with
W&L Dining Services except in unusual circumstances.
Requests other than for coffee breaks, receptions, or meals associated
with University academic events are unlikely to be honored.
Failure
to comply with these guidelines will result in denial of future requests.
