J. Tyler Dickovick |

J. Tyler Dickovick is an Associate Professor of Politics at Washington and Lee University. He conducts research on African and Latin American politics, with a focus on decentralization, federalism, and local governance. He is the author of Decentralization and Recentralization in Developing Countries: Comparative Studies from Africa and Latin America (2011, Penn State University Press). Dickovick has also authored or co-authored numerous research reports and studies on decentralization and democratic local governance for USAID. Publicly available reports can be found at the USAID link. His courses include International Development, International Political Economy, Latin American Politics, African Politics (with courses in Senegal and Ghana), Comparative Political Analysis, and Applied Statistics. He earned his Ph.d., MPA, and MA degrees from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and BS and BA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
