## Class Notes

• QUIZZES: Periodic quizzes will be given, some in class, some take home, some open book, some closed book.

• TESTS: There will be tests.

• FINAL EXAM: There will be a comprehensive final exam.

• HOMEWORK: Suggested homework will be assigned but not typically collected or graded.

• CLASSWORK: Problems will be completed in class in groups and collected and graded. Every member of the group will receive the same grade.

• LABS: There will be lab projects assigned to be completed out of class using the computer algebra system Maple. Maple is available on all computers in the lab in Robinson Hall.

• GATEWAYS: There will be three gateway tests in this class. The topics will be limits, derivatives and basic integrals. A score of 100% is required on each of the three gateways. Four attempts will be allowed for each gateway test. Failure to pass all three of the gateways will result in the reduction of the maximum possible course grade to a C.

CALCULATORS: Calculators may NOT be used on tests, quizzes, gateways or the final exam.

*Make up quizzes and exams will be given only due to an illness or a university related activity.

 Homework, Quizzes, Labs & Classwork: 15% Tests: 65% Final Exam: 20%

 Grading Scale A+: 98-100% B+: 87-89% C+: 77-79% D+: 67-69% A: 93-97% B: 83-86% C: 73-76% D: 63-66% A-: 90-92% B-: 80-82% C-: 70-72% D-: 60-62%
