Ogden, C. K., and Richards, I. A., The Meaning of Meaning. London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co, 1923. First edition. Although this book was not a work of moral philosophy, it was the first (in the English language) to advance the thesis that the ethical use of "good" in Moore was purely emotive. It inspired what became known as Emotivism in Ayer and Stevenson.
