Jean-Paul Sartre, "Le Mur", La Nouvelle Revue Française, no. 286, July 1937, p. 38-62. This is the first publication of Sartre's short-story, set during the Spanish Civil War, in which the protagonist lies to his interrogators as to the whereabouts of another Anarchist, Ramon Gris, only to be released, because what he says just happens to be true (Gris had switched hiding places). Note the lack of a hyphen in "Jean Paul". Also, note that another author in this issue is Jacques Maritain."
