This is me with the rebels in South America. (No. But it sort of looks it.)

You know how, when you're at university, you always decide to cut one side of your hair short, and grow the other side long...

Yeah, that's right. One half short, one half long.

Yup, that goatee... and was I still wearing waistcoats?

But was I radical or what!

Okay, so I had some fun (this particular jacket was admired by fellow student Dominic West, currently star of HBO's The Wire).

Ahem... some things are best passed over in silence.

It also helps to pass one's summers working for a film festival and meeting famous actors.

All good things must come to an end.

I was the only girl graduating without a mortarboard hat, apparently... with Vice Chancellor Conor Cruise O'Brien doing the honours.

Can you spot the earring? (In the right ear ???)

But the hair... the hair lives forever...

Although the hair can be difficult, too.
