Near Glasgow and Natural Bridge, VirginiaTime: First team starts the course at 10:30 AM. Last team starts the course at noon.
Lunch will be served from noon to 2:30 PM. Nonriders may purchase lunch for five dollars ($5).
The last team must start no later than noon.Requirements:
Helmets or hunt caps are required for jumping.
Virginia state law requires a current negative coggins test certificate be available for inspection. Please bring a copy to speed up registration.
All participants must register and sign a waiver of liability. Parent or guardian must sign for entrants under 18 years of age.Entry fees: (includes lunch).
$35 per horse / adult rider combination
$20 per horse / junior rider (under 18)
$5 for lunch for non-riders
Awards: Ribbons awarded for first to sixth places, with two ribbons per team.
Teams: Teams will consist of two riders.
Three entries may ride together but only two will be eligible for awards. Un-judged riders must also pay entry fee.
Juniors under the age of twelve must be accompanied by an adult entry on horseback.
Divisions:
Hunter Optimum division: The course will be about 7 to 10 miles over rolling terrain with many optional jumps. The pace should simulate a day of hunting and will average about 7-8 miles per hour.
Most of the jumps will be coops, three feet or less in height.Hilltopper division: The course will be about 7 to 10 miles over rolling terrain with some optional jumps. The pace will average about 6 miles per hour.
Most of the jumps will be coops, three feet or less in height.Trail/Pleasure division: The course will be about 5 miles over rolling terrain with no jumps. The pace will average about 4 miles per hour.
It's likely that there will be a five-minute check in the middle of all courses.
Winning Times for all divisions will be set by members of the Rockbridge Hunt riding the course and will be announced after the last entries finish.

Directions to Windward Farm:
From Interstate 81 take Exit 180 (one of two Natural Bridge exits) and go north on Route 11 (Lee Highway) for about 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Falling Springs Road (Route 680). After about 1.5 miles the road forks -- stay to the right on Lone Jack Road. After about a half mile, you'll come to a stop sign. Turn right on Forge Road (Route 608). Go about a half mile and turn right on Poague Lane. There will be signs or ribbons. You'll follow this lane, crossing two creeks. You'll turn left in front of the barn and park in the field.
