Rockbridge Hunt Ball & Silent Auction!

The Rockbridge Hunt Ball is a GREAT party! Guests are welcome!
Email Carol Atwood (carol@broadviewranch.com) before February 15.

See all your pals (whether they foxhunt or not), drink and dine in fine style, and dance the night away! Our band this year is the exceptional Class Act! We have an extended cocktail "hour" to allow plenty of time to socialize and shop at the Silent Auction -- and this year's shopping will be extraordinary!

These are just a few of the outstanding items in this year's Silent Auction! Bring your checkbook!

As usual, there will be many unique, fun items with smaller price tags. There are always several prints and paintings -- we can't do them justice on a web page. Come and see for yourself!

It's not too late to make a donation -- call Laura Jarvis, 540-291-3186.

Camp Mont Shenandoah is a small, traditional girls' camp located in the Allegheny mountains of Bath County, Virginia. The site includes open fields, ample woods with hiking trails, streams, hills and unmatched views overlooking the pristine Cowpasture River.

From the Camp Mont Shenandoah website: "Since its inception in 1927, the five virtues of love, loyalty, friendship, sportsmanship and spiritual awareness have served as the guiding principles of Camp Mont Shenandoah."

Tickets for The American Shakespeare Center at Blackfriars Playhouse!
Donated by Hugh Brown.
What a treat! This auction item is tickets for two to any of the plays in the spring or summer series. While Shakespeare's plays dominate the schedule, other plays from the period are also offered. The Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton is a historically-accurate recreation of the theater in England where Shakespeare's plays were originally produced. The theater is incredibly beautiful.

From the website: "The American Shakespeare Center is an internationally acclaimed theatre company that performs Shakespeare's works under their original staging conditions -- on a simple stage, without elaborate sets, and with the audience sharing the same light as the actors. Home to the ASC's resident troupe, the Blackfriars Playhouse has been established as one of America's premier Shakespeare destinations."

A few endorsements would be in order. Do check out their website.

"This stunning re-creation of the first indoor theater in the English-speaking world, which William Shakespeare and his colleagues built on part of London's Blackfriars Monastery...is, in itself, a reason to visit Staunton." -- Frommer's Virginia guide

"One of the five most historically important theatres in the world." -- Andrew Gurr, Professor of English, University of Reading, England and former Director of Research, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London
