Warm Springs VA: 3 Aug  1868

My dear Mr. Gordon

I thank you for your letters forwarded to me.  I perceive a slight typographical error in the Circular.  County for County will correct it except those not disposed.  This is the day I had appointed to move to the Hot, but Mildred is unable.  She was taken sick more than a fortnight since, & her attack seems to have partaken a typhoid character, She is very feeble & confined to her bed, though the Dr says she is better.  I see little improvement, & can make no plans for the future.  Please address me here & send all letters etc requiring my attention-

Mrs Lee & Agnes are better than when they arrived, though the latter is feeble & the former unable to walk.

I see Miss Edwined W. & her sister Mrs Houston every day.  We are in the same cottage.  (Page 2 ).  Both are well.  Mrs White & Mrs Newman have greatly improved.  They sit at the table with us.  There is a --?-- & pleasant couple & all seem pleased -

Remember me to all my friends &neighbors.  How is Traveller.  Tell him I miss him dreadfully & have repented of our separation but once, & that is the whole time, since we parted.

Mrs Lee & my daughters write in kind regards & I am

Very truly yours

R E Lee

P. S. I hope you are progressing with the work & that nothing relating to the College is suffering

Mr Gordon
