My dear Sir

I have shown the model of your Patent fender to the pesrons interested in building, but none have yet adopted it in their houses.  As stated in my former letter, stoves are generally used for warming houses here & there are but few open fire places in Lexington.  I do not think therefore that there will be much demand for fenders.

I will however place your model where it can be seen & hold it subject to your order.  When you desire it, send for it -

All the College buildings are warmed by stoves, which are generally thought to be more convenient & economical.

Thanking you for your offer for the use of your patent, (page 2)

I am very respy

Your obtservt

R E Lee
