My dear brother Carter

I have recd your letter of the 15t & have written to Richardson.  The word in question is written in the copy of the letter sent me Arga not Aga as stated in your last.  I think it probable that the correct wording is Agra.  I know no such place as Aga or Arga.  You do not speak as to the three centuries.  I think it ought to be less.

As regards the portraits I should prefer yours to mine (being the eldest son & the one to whom the letters were addressed) being inserted & have so told Richardson, but how far it would be judicious to add to the cost of the work, I leave to Mr Richardson to determine.  I believe the portraits are enhanced in the ALee Family.@
