Dear Sir Alexandria 10th Octr. 1791
To secure Messrs Leroy and Bayard as to their acceptances of the bills I shall draw I have transferred to them 2679.37 three per cent and 1919.96 six per cent deferred and I enclose to you the deed of transfer to be delivered to them.
I have drawn on them in your favor for fifteen hundred dollars payable at sixty days - Their acceptance you are to discount at the bank and the proceeds may be remitted to me in the Treasury drafts on myself or on the Collector of Rappahanock or in Bank bills at 30 days or less time - This negotiation is for an immediate supply to me and therefore you will oblige me by using the first post in your power.
You have not told me what I am to do respecting the purchase of a lot for you in the federal city. Should you confide entirely in my disposition I will do the best I can for you -
I am with esteem your
Mr Joseph Nourse
