Arlington House, March 15th. 1850.
My D Sir.
I endeavoured to find your lodging in the City, where I might do myself the honour of paying you my respects to you in person, & thanking you for your kindness in taking charge of the Book for me.
Not being able to find you in our City of Magnificent Distances, if you will leave the Book at my Bookseller, William Adams on the Avenue next door to Morrisons Bookstore, I shall get it very safely.
With respect, I have the honour to
be Sir, Yr Obliged Srvt.
