Brendan Weickert

Associate Professor of Mathematics

My primary fields of interest are several complex variables and dynamical systems, beginning in my dissertation (University of Michigan, 1997) with a problem of local dynamics near non-hyperbolic fixed points, and continuing with problems of global dynamics in complex projective space, random iteration, attractors, and, most recently, infinite-dimensional complex dynamics--specifically, unitary dynamics on separable Hilbert spaces. A general theme of my later work has been to investigate those phenomena in complex dynamical systems that are stable under perturbations of the map being iterated.
